Astro Workshop 19 – Day 7

Friday May 30th

We met at 15:00 for final tutorial then dinner at a restaurant called Legends.  We then drove to the National Park for a sunset shoot at the side of the road, TF-38 near to Mount Las Cuevitas .

Final sunset of the workshop

We then went on to the Mirador de Sámara  car park to shoot some star trails and time lapses.  Carole and I didn’t climb up to the the peak of the Sámara volcano with the others and stayed at the bus taking our photos.

A short polar startrail (104 images) with the foreground lit by passing traffic.
A second star trail this time of the milkyway, with the foreground lit by the traffic (181 images 20sec at f2.8, ISO3200, 2 sec apart)

As this was the last night, we finished at 00:30 and got back to the Hotel to pack ready to check out by 12:00 on Saturday. So ended a fabulous week long workshop.  I learned a lot and hopefully my astrophotography has improved.. I have also learned a lot about post processing of RAW files and getting multiple images blended in Photoshop.
