Astro Workshop 19 – Day 5

Wednesday May 28th

A free day, we did some food shopping then relaxed in the apartment, catching up with some sleep before an early dinner and the off to the National Park to shoot the sunset.

After the sunset comes the zodiacal light. The light area on the right hand side is light pollution from the village under the clouds. The clouds act as a diffuser.
My first attemp at a star trail. Only 40 shots blended hence the short streaks. I had to break off as it was my turn to use the star tracker.
A star tracked image. This is 3 images with an exposure of 2.5 minutes on a star tracker (it rotates at the same speed as the earth and therefore the stars don’t blur). with a single image of the foreground and blended together.
